Massage Therapy

The assessment and treatment of the soft tissue and joints of the body to prevent and relieve physical dysfunction and pain, and to rehabilitate and maintain physical function.  Massage is very effective in relieving stress, promoting recovery from injuries, and increasing mobility & flexibility among other things.  There is scientific research that shows massage can help with a variety of health conditions including depression, digestive & sleep disorders, fibromyalgia, chronic & acute pain, the list goes on.

Manual Lymph Drainage

A gentle skin technique based on scientific, physiological principles that have been proven to encourage the natural flow of lymph fluid.  When performed with the correct pressure, speed & direction it can greatly enhance recovery & facilitate drainage.  This treatment is used for most types of swelling, inflammation, & edema as well as congestion. (ie, sprains, bruising, sinus/allergies, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome)

*Not combined with Massage Therapy as it is more effective used alone

Deep Tissue

A deep tissue massage is not a "hard" massage, nor does it follow the "no pain, no gain" theory.  It consists of working with the different layers of tissue in the body with the intention of relaxing, lengthening, and releasing holding patterns within muscle, fascia & surrounding connective tissue.

Myofascial Release

Fascia is a fibrous membrane which covers, supports, & separates structures within the body including muscles & organs.  MR provides sustained pressure into myofascial restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

Hot Stone

Warm basalt stones are placed in chakra centres & other points on the body delivering a concentrated centre of heat.  The heat from the stones relaxes muscles, increases the blood flow to the area being worked on which further accelerates the healing process. This increase in circulation and the relaxation of the muscles also aids in mental relaxation. Mental relaxation is key when a Therapist is attempting to work into deeper muscles of the body.
